How Much Does It Cost to Check a Trade Against Your Risk Limits Before It Executes?
$0.005 USDC per evaluation with the SML Risk Firewall from ScriptMasterLabs. One call checks a batch of 1–100 proposed orders — equity buys, spot buys, and standard long call/put opening buys — against your own stated risk limits, validates every instrument live, and returns PASS, REJECT, or INSUFFICIENT_DATA with the exact USD math, the machine-readable rule codes, and an Ed25519-signed receipt. It is the deterministic half of pre-trade discipline: beside it sits Verdict Protocol, ScriptMasterLabs' five-juror decision service ($0.25 per decision), which judges whether a trade is a good idea. The Firewall does not judge ideas — it checks whether the sized order fits your limits before your broker ever sees it.

Pricing at a glance
One risk evaluation costs 0.005 USDC. The price is in USDC, charged per evaluation — not per order: one evaluation covers a batch of 1 to 100 proposed orders, so a full 100-order batch costs $0.00005 per order checked. No subscription, no account, no seat license. Prices verified live November 7, 2026.
The same $0.005 USD price holds on every rail: USDC on Base (eip155:8453), USDC on Arc (eip155:5042), USDC on Solana, and the quoted USD-equivalent in XRP or RLUSD on XRPL and XAH on Xahau (native-asset quotes are converted at a published rate and held for the quote window). Base and Arc settle through OMNIGATE to 0x5BBd32e0478e49A7540EF2D760E0B0F9AA6328b2; Solana, XRPL and Xahau settle through 402Proof to Hv4cEGpyyNJDvxvgBb3C8GkcwtouF1qUfPT13innuXty (Solana) and rEmdJWrAWFtud1vFN8Zm8eWkgK4AVMWPiX (XRPL/Xahau).
What is included in the $0.005: live instrument validation against Tradier and Coinbase evidence before payment; the full limit check (maximum order outlay, combined batch exposure, buying power, daily loss, maximum contracts per order, snapshot freshness, option expiration buffer); the exact USD calculations; machine-readable rule codes for every breach, naming the rule, the actual value and the limit; and the signed, hash-chained receipt tying the settlement transaction to the delivered result.
What is never charged: invalid input (HTTP 400, no charge), an unpaid call (you receive the 402 payment menu only), and any evaluation whose required instrument evidence is stale or unavailable (it fails before a charge). Loyalty pricing is published in the service catalog: send X-PAYER with your wallet and the price drops 20% after 10 paid calls and 30% after 100 paid calls from that wallet.
Start here — read the live contract for free: GET https://sml-risk-firewall.onrender.com/catalog and GET https://sml-risk-firewall.onrender.com/v1/risk/capabilities cost nothing. The paid door is POST https://sml-risk-firewall.onrender.com/v1/risk/evaluate; the same evaluation is exposed as the MCP tool risk-evaluate on the service's remote MCP server.
What one evaluation checks?
- Your limits, your numbers. You send the policy: maximum order outlay, maximum combined exposure, maximum daily loss, maximum contracts per order, maximum snapshot age, and an option expiration buffer. The Firewall enforces your numbers — it does not substitute its own opinion of your risk.
- The whole batch at once. 1–100 orders in a single call, checked combined — batch outlay and total exposure are computed across the batch, not order by order in isolation.
- Live instruments, before money moves. Every symbol is validated against live Tradier and Coinbase evidence during preflight. An unsupported contract, a stale quote, or missing evidence fails the call before any charge.
- Exact answers, not vibes. A REJECT names the rule code, the order, the actual value and the limit — for example ORDER_OUTLAY_LIMIT, actual 64.000000, limit 60.000000 (the service's own published output example). PASS means the proposal fits the supplied policy and snapshot; INSUFFICIENT_DATA means the evidence could not support a decision.
- A receipt you can verify without trusting us. Every paid answer carries a receipt {seq, prev, inputHash, outputHash, hash, signature}: the hash is SHA-256 over the canonical result, the signature is Ed25519, and prev links the public chain. The verification key is published on the service; verification is a free call.
- Account data stays yours. The account snapshot comes from the caller and is labeled as caller-supplied in the result. The Firewall holds no broker credentials and executes nothing — broker execution requires separate authorization through the control API.
Proof status — stated exactly
The SML Risk Firewall is live and enforcing: its health endpoint reports paymentsEnforced: true, and every rail's payment terms were read from the live catalog on November 7, 2026 and matched against Script Master Labs' current wallets — the retired wallet appears nowhere in the service. Settlements so far: zero. The public receipt chain read count 0 on launch day, November 7, 2026 — live and enforcing, first receipts pending. This page will not claim a settlement that has not happened; when the first evaluation settles, it lands on the service's public hash-chained receipt log, where anyone can verify it against the published Ed25519 key.

Risk Firewall vs Verdict Protocol vs no pre-trade check
| SML Risk Firewall | Verdict Protocol | No pre-trade check | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Job | Deterministic limit check: does this sized order fit your stated limits? | Judgment: is this decision a good idea? (five Jev jurors, signed decision receipt) | — |
| Price | $0.005 USDC per evaluation (1–100 orders) | $0.25 USDC per decision · $0.01 per seal | $0 |
| What it compares | Order outlay, exposure, buying power, daily loss, contracts, snapshot age, expiry buffer — against your policy | A decision capsule against a constitution and juror evidence | Nothing |
| Live instrument validation | Yes — Tradier + Coinbase, before payment | No | No |
| Output | PASS / REJECT / INSUFFICIENT_DATA + exact USD math + rule codes | Decision + juror votes in a sealed receipt | The order reaches the broker unchecked |
| Receipt | Ed25519-signed, hash-chained, publicly verifiable | Signed, persisted decision receipt | None |
The two SML tools compose: Verdict's jury weighs the trade; the Firewall verifies the sized batch fits the account before execution. Neither replaces the other.
How a call works?
- Send policy, timestamped account snapshot, and 1–100 proposed orders — unpaid. All money and quantity values are decimal strings.
- The service validates every instrument live. A valid preflight returns HTTP 402 with a fresh quote per rail (quote held 300 seconds); invalid input returns 400, uncharged.
- Pick ONE rail, sign exactly that quote, and retry the same request with the payment header.
- A 200 returns the decision, the exact calculations, the rule codes, the signed receipt, and the settlement evidence tying the transaction to the result. A 202 means the payment state is uncertain — poll the status URL; the service never re-charges or switches rails on its own, and re-sending the same quote is idempotent.
Honest limits
- Buys only. The Firewall evaluates equity buys, spot buys, and standard single-leg long call/put opening buys. Sells, shorts, spreads and multi-leg orders are outside the contract today and are not claimed.
- It checks limits, not quality. PASS means the proposal fits your policy and snapshot — not that the trade is wise, profitable, or suitable. Returns and future prices are outside this contract.
- Snapshots are caller-supplied. The decision is bound to the exact inputs you send; a wrong snapshot produces a faithfully computed answer about the wrong account state. Provenance is labeled in every result.
- Launch-day usage is zero. Receipts: 0 at publication. The service is new; its public receipt chain is the scoreboard and it starts empty, in the open.
- Different tool, different neighbor. For a judgment call on a trade idea, use Verdict Protocol ($0.25 per decision) — the Firewall will not give you one, and Verdict will not do the Firewall's arithmetic.
Frequently asked questions
How much does it cost to check a trade against your risk limits before it executes? 0.005 USDC per evaluation with the SML Risk Firewall, verified live November 7, 2026. One evaluation covers a batch of 1 to 100 proposed orders at the same flat price, so a full 100-order batch costs $0.00005 per order checked. The price is the same on every rail: USDC on Base, USDC on Arc, USDC on Solana, or the quoted USD-equivalent in XRP, XAH or RLUSD on XRPL/Xahau. No subscription, no account. Loyalty pricing: 20% off after 10 paid calls and 30% off after 100 paid calls from the same payer wallet.
What does the SML Risk Firewall check? It checks proposed equity buys, spot buys and standard single-leg long call/put opening buys against the caller's own stated limits: maximum order outlay, combined batch exposure, buying power, daily loss, maximum contracts per order, snapshot freshness and option expiration buffer. Every instrument is validated live against Tradier and Coinbase evidence before payment. The answer is PASS, REJECT or INSUFFICIENT_DATA with exact USD calculations and machine-readable rule codes naming the breached limit, the actual value and the limit.
What do I get for the $0.005? A decision for the whole batch (PASS, REJECT or INSUFFICIENT_DATA), the exact USD math behind it, machine-readable rule codes for every breach, and an Ed25519-signed, hash-chained receipt that ties the payment transaction to the delivered result. The receipt verification key is published on the service and anyone can verify a receipt at the service's /receipts/verify endpoint. Invalid input is rejected with HTTP 400 and no charge; stale or unavailable instrument evidence fails before a charge.
How is the Risk Firewall different from Verdict Protocol? They do different jobs. The Risk Firewall is deterministic arithmetic: it compares your proposed orders against your own numeric limits and answers PASS or REJECT with the exact breached rule, for $0.005 per evaluation. Verdict Protocol is a five-juror Jev decision on a decision capsule — judgment, not arithmetic — at $0.25 per decision and $0.01 per seal. An agent can run both: the jury decides whether a trade is a good idea; the firewall checks whether the sized order fits the account's limits before it executes.
Which payment networks does the SML Risk Firewall accept? Six rails at the same $0.005 USD price, verified live November 7, 2026: USDC on Base (eip155:8453) and USDC on Arc (eip155:5042), settled via OMNIGATE to 0x5BBd32e0478e49A7540EF2D760E0B0F9AA6328b2; USDC on Solana to Hv4cEGpyyNJDvxvgBb3C8GkcwtouF1qUfPT13innuXty; and XRP, RLUSD and XAH to rEmdJWrAWFtud1vFN8Zm8eWkgK4AVMWPiX on XRPL and Xahau, settled via 402Proof, converted at a quoted rate held for the quote window.
Has anyone paid for an evaluation yet? Not yet, and this page says so plainly. The service is live with payments enforced (its /health endpoint reports paymentsEnforced: true), and its public receipt chain read 0 receipts on November 7, 2026 — the launch state. The payment wiring was verified against the live catalog on launch day: every rail's payTo matches Script Master Labs' current wallets. The first settled evaluation will appear on the public, hash-chained receipt log where anyone can check it.
